Approximately 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.

Residents witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that various areas across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Victorian Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled over five hundred calls for help across the region, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At the height on Sunday, over twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
