American lawmakers from each political sides are accusing one another as many of employees are on unpaid leave and the closure drags on with no resolution in prospect.

The Democratic Party have refused to back the GOP funding bill unless expiring healthcare subsidies that they argue many laboring parents count on are extended.

Republicans want Democrats to pass a interim bill beforehand and then they can discuss the support payments.

This Golden State citizen is concerned about the extensive effect of the funding halt on ordinary people.

The GOP have 53 votes, they require 60 to approve the legislation. Could it be that challenging to come together over a handful of votes so that Americans avoid harm?

If this drags on for another week or two, the bottom line is US citizens are being harmed, US residents are being influenced by this and a leader should take action to be the adult in the group.

I believe sometimes legislators are so distant from the people, the average individual managing daily affairs, so they forget what the hardship is like and I feel they should factor that in, particularly if it's 750,000 Americans that are unpaid.

That's a large group of citizens without pay, that's a significant number of citizens not putting their money toward the market. Citizens are just being hurt.

I'm nervous because there is no favorable conclusion with the government being closed.

I'm highly nervous about what's going to transpire to low-income families, learners who need government grants and government workers.

But this is a worthwhile battle for the Democratic Party to pursue. Naturally employment are going to be cut, initiatives are going to go without funding, which is so unfortunate but I feel that is blood that the Democrats would have on their hands.

I feel it's worth it to hold out, this is sending a strong signal to their supporters.

I question if the Senate Democratic leader has a roadmap for an exit strategy to discussions or how to get the group out of this.

I question if the Democratic Party have a clear narrative to the public on what they're pursuing.

In terms of online communication, the Republicans certainly have the advantage. The communication is not persuasive on what Democrats are attempting.

I'm currently at a stage where I'm fairly nervous because funding lapses hurt everyone.

I'm going to be unaffected, but for the rest who relies on the public services, who hopes to go visit a National Park or gallery, they're going to be affected, if not currently, then in the short term.

And that is intolerable.

This is typical political maneuvering. It is a temporary funding they are trying to pass, that the opposition don't support.

People are labeling it a leadership-induced halt, it's not on the GOP, it's on the Democratic leader, he's doing it to remain relevant within his political faction - in the meantime, all are in the uncertainty.

I don't see that this is going to resolve.

The average Americans are trapped between sides, and the left are willing to sacrifice those people. They're hurting their cause any advantages when they really hold up issues like this.

The administration leader is a bully and if you acquiesce to a intimidator he's going to demand more, that's how aggressive people operate. So you have to confront a aggressor to make him realise you're not going to give things up for free.

The moment when it becomes too much is when the Democratic Party start losing the PR battle, if the story shifts to blaming the Democrats then it might be necessary to call it quits.
