Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks his first trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, backed up by an better service.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial tour title, gained dominance to push for a final set.
The opponent rescued four initial chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, he clinched the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
