One extended journey around the Land Down Under has been cancelled following the fatal incident of an senior woman who was left behind by the vessel on a remote coastal location.

Suzanne Rees had been walking on Lizard Island with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but broke off from the group for a rest. The vessel departed without her and returned after some time after the crew realised the woman was unaccounted for.

An extensive search operation located her remains the subsequent day.

"From the little information we have been provided, it appears that there was a breakdown of attention and ordinary reasoning," she stated.

She further stated that she desired the investigation would be able to identify what "the company should have performed that might have saved Her existence".

"We understand from the investigators that it was a exceptionally warm afternoon, and mum became unwell on the uphill trek," she revealed.

"She was asked her to go back, without accompaniment. Then the vessel left, seemingly without doing a headcount.

Operator Reaction
